Introdução

Os desenvolvedores do Ubunt estão se movmendo bem rápido para trazer a vocês o que de melhor a Comunidade de Software Livre oferece de mais novo e melhor. O Hardy Heron Tribe 1 é o primeiro lançamento Alpha do Ubuntu 8.04, e com esse novo lançamento alpha vem todos as excelentes novidades. Uma lista de novidades para 8.04 foi rapidamente construida desde que o Heron abriu no último mês. Enquando muito ainda é decidido para o 8.04, aqui estão algumas coisas que já chegaram com bons olhos para o Hardy Heron.

Nota: Este é um lançamento alpha. Não instale em máquina de produção. A versão final sairá em Abril de 2008.

Atualizando do Ubuntu 7.10

Para atualizar do Ubuntu 7.10, execute "update-manager -d" usando o update-manager package do gutsy.

Xorg 7.3

O último Xorg está disponível no alpha, Xorg 7.3, com ênfase na melhor autoconfiguração sem ser por arquivos de configuraçãol

Caveats

As is to be expected at this stage of the release process, there are several known bugs that users are likely to run into with Hardy Alpha 1. We have documented them here for your convenience along with any known workarounds, so that you don't need to spend time reporting these bugs again:

* Due to a wrong priority set for the bluetooth GStreamer plugin, Totem (GStreamer) wont play most files. This is fixed in bluez-utils 3.22-1ubuntu2 in hardy. * Due to the X server failing to provide a configuration file, the keyboard selection made during install will not be carried over to the installed system. https://launchpad.net/bugs/173008 * Some users report being unable to switch VTs away from X after login. Investigation of this issue is ongoing. https://launchpad.net/bugs/131751 * Video problems have been reported with the 64-bit (amd64) version of Edubuntu desktop. No solution is known at this time. https://launchpad.net/bugs/173130
